Garnier-Thiebaut, in a few dates:

 

1833 : Like all great stories, that of Garnier-Thiebaut begins with a marriage celebrated among canvas merchants, that of Virginie Thiébaut and Jean-Baptiste Garnier. Together in 1833 they created the weaving company GARNIER-THIEBAUT. The strength and brilliance of Gérardmer made its reputation from the 19th century. The mastery of the jacquard technique definitely positions the family company as a major player in household linen.

 

1870 : The first Garnier-Thiebaut textile factory is built in Gérardmer.

1933 : The company expands and houses two weaving factories, a bleaching factory, and two important garment workshops.

1944 : The factory is demolished. It took five years for the factory to rise from its ashes and the looms to buzz again.

1969 : The heirs of Garnier-Thiebaut decide to sell the family company which retains its name and its particularities despite successive takeovers.

1985 : The Montclos family, the oldest textile family in France, bought the company as well as Centrale Linière, a textile specialist for hotels and restaurants. Garnier-Thiebaut then repositioned itself in a rapidly growing market: the hotel industry.

1995 : Paul de Montclos, the current CEO, breathes new life into the Vosges company and its people by betting on innovation, creativity and diversification. Already renowned in the restaurant and hotel sector, by equipping Michelin-starred establishments, Garnier-Thiebaut is entering the private market with collections perfectly mastering the colors and the refinement of the patterns, combined with flawless quality.

2008 : The Garnier-Thiebaut company begins collaborations with designers to create ephemeral or limited series collections.

2009 : Opening of the 1st Garnier-Thiebaut store in Paris at 79 boulevard Raspail in the 6th arrondissement.

2010 : Acquisition of Hilden America. Launch of the Green Sweet anti-stain.

2011 : Beginning of the collaboration with the magazine Campagne Décoration.

Renewal of the Living Heritage Company label (valid for 5 years)

2012 : Launch of the Green Sweet treatment for white tablecloths. New shop-in-the-shop at Printemps, Paris Haussmann.

2013 : Garnier-Thiebaut celebrates its 180 years! On this occasion, the brand changes its visual identity.
